well, statistics can be twisted any way you want them to.

since there are 500 times as many people driving 4 wheels than 2 and there is a good chance that there are more than 2 people in a car/suv/van you could say that there are not enough scooters on the road to ever add up to the number of people who die in car accidents.

OR you could say what are the chances you survive "______" type accident in a

car-
truck-
bike-

in that case the bike is MUCH worse, i mean, you can die from just about any impact at speed on a bike.

then there is the last important figure accident avoidance... the person on the motorcycle is the MOST able to avoid an accident, either by swerving(it can do in 1/5th the space of a car) stopping (it can stop in 1/3rd the distance) speeding out of the way(my average old cruiser does 0-60 in 4 seconds)

so, on a bike you are most likely to:

avoid an accident altogether

also

die when involved in an accident

Car is way safer, my dad saw an accident where a guy died cause his motorcycle hit a PIG! Imagine if the pig was a 4000lb SUV instead of a couple hundred pound animal.

Lets see..............if you are crashed into by a Hummer where would you like to be, on a scooter or in a car?

It's a no brainer from this perspective isn't it.
