   In the state of Illinois if it has a brakelight and turn signal you have to have a license.

   I’m not sure whether you guys are on the same M graduated license program as us (Canada), I think California is. If so you probably need a class ML meaning low speed motorcycle license.

   In my country (Indonesia), we must have a motorcycle licence to drive a moped. Cost to create that license is approx US$ 10.

   motorcycle licence or a licence to drive in most states to drive anything …. check your dmv… should find it out online most states are listed… so your state dmv and look it up or call them
