80cc motor scooter is that a motorcycle in ma or not?

i just got a motor scooter it's a 1 cyl 80 cc motor scooter it doesn't have enough windshield or other things for it to go on the highway.......but it goes more than 20 mph so in ma does that mean it's a moped or a motorcycle?

   It’s a motorcycle

   A moped is less than 50cc, has an automatic transmission, and depending on the state, 25 or 30MPH.

   Jim is correct, your scooter is classified as a motorcycle. You will need at least a motorcycle learners permit to drive it on the public roads, $30. The scooter will also have to be registered, $25 (I think), titled $50, sales tax ($50 on every thousand), insured (cheap, depending on coverage selected), and inspected ($15 per year).
