I have a voy electric moped. It came with a set of three 12 volt batteries. Will adding more batteries to increase the voltage make it faster, or dammage the engin? How many more 12 volt batteries would be ok to add, if any?

I want to get a gas powered motorized scooter (street legal) and i want to buy from a Japanese, European, or American company. So I would like to know of some American companies. I think suzuki, kawasaki, and honda are japanese correct me if i'm wrong but if any of them are american what are some other ones.

I have a 21 mile commute. I'm thinking about getting a motorscooter to make the commute more economical. I'm not really the motorcycle type. What kind of scooter should I look for? I need it to be cheap because I'm still paying on my car.
That's 21 miles one way. total of 42 miles round trip.
